Chicago: Synonym for "Giant Freezer"

Here in Chicago, us highschool students are going through the daily rutine of debating whether the next day will be a snow day or not; based on the massive amounts of snow, and freezing temperatures. Unlike places in NY, where it can take only a few inches (compared to Chicago's standards) of snow to be a snow day. Here. You usualy need a foot or more for it to be CONSIDERED.

but back to the freezing tempeature thing. I took the temperature outside my house a few minutes ago, and it read 0 (F). Despite how mind numbingly cold that is, the Zero reading became my favorite temperature.
I know. Thats crazy.
But.
THINK about IT.

ZERO. is a place holder. NOT a number. So when its zero degree's outisde, it so cold, that there is actualy not a "number" to describe it.

I know thats a silly reason to like that its Zero outside. but for some reason, ive never thought of it this way...
But im not suprised, winter in Chicago... the change in daily temperature kinda becomes indistinguishable to me....just one never melting Ice Cube...
oh. and id like to point out.
that since its in the negs now...my freezer is actualy warmer than outside...
(So if you live in Chicago...Save Energy! put your frozen foods outside!) i know i know....REALLY bad joke.

I lived in Chicago once, for about 4 years. Snowed in May, end of May! The pool was open, in the apartments where I lived.

Seems like a tangent universe to me now. I live in Florida :nana:

Sorry.
